Life at Ridgeway Post Acute
A skilled nursing stay is still a life, and it ought to feel like one. There’s a new activities calendar every month, meals planned around what you actually like to eat, a beauty parlor for when you want to look like yourself again, and a large courtyard outside for the afternoons Petaluma does well. Our social services team handles everything that isn’t medical. Have a look at what’s here.
Activities
Our activities department has been at this a long time, and there’s a new calendar every month. In any given week there’s live music, gardening, trivia, stretching and fitness, current events and the newspaper read aloud, and a field trip out into Petaluma. Birthday parties, movies, and ice cream socials turn up on the calendar too. There’s an active resident council and a family council, plus a volunteer program that brings people in from town. Come to what you want and skip what you don’t.
Dining
Meals are built around your physician’s orders, so if you’re on a therapeutic diet the kitchen already knows. Our registered dietitian sits down with you shortly after you arrive to ask what you actually like, and the CNAs pass along requests after that. We track weights and intake every month, which is how we catch the residents who have quietly stopped eating. If something on the tray isn’t right, tell us. We would rather fix it than watch you push it around the plate.

Social Services
Our social services team is the one you call when the problem isn’t medical. They handle your care planning and your discharge planning, and they’re the people who sort out the appointment you need, the paperwork nobody explained, or the concern you would rather not raise with a nurse.
They are also the ones who arrange outside professionals: dental, vision, podiatry, audiology, dementia assessment, psychosocial and psychiatric evaluation, and individual therapy. They’ll set up your transportation, and if you would rather not go alone, someone can go with you.
Courtyards & Common Spaces
The courtyard out back is large and it gets used. Residents sit out there in the afternoons, and families visit there when the weather is good. Inside, you can reserve the activities lounge for a birthday or a family gathering if you let us know ahead of time. There’s a beauty parlor on site, because looking like yourself matters more than people expect. WiFi runs throughout the building for residents and guests.
